The construction is in the highly experienced hands of Mosgiel transport engineering company, T. L. MacLean Limited; established in 1924!
The rig is built on a Hino Series 500 Wide Body FG1628 chassis and features the latest Palfinger knuckle boom crane technology including radio remote control and electronic overload protection.
The unit will be valuable addition to the Field Services fleet. It will be based in Wanaka but will operate throughout New Zealand.
Its primary role will be to deliver, assemble and install otterdock – Safe Docking Platforms but will also be used to assemble aerators, mixers and decanters on site; deliver export consignments to port; transport portable site offices to worksites; backload materials from suppliers and perform miscellaneous logistics duties.
The rig is scheduled to be on the road in November.
Its first duty will be to deliver four otterdock’s to the new WWTP at Tatua Dairy in the Waikato and assemble eight 110kW aquaturbo aerators.
